Becoming an Intestine Transplant Patient
at University of Minnesota
Amplatz Children's Hospital

The Intestine Transplant Program at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to care for children receiving an intestine transplant. Having a physician refer you to our program will speed the referral process. However, parents interested in our program may also contact us directly. When you or your child's physician call us, our staff will:

  • Coordinate communication between you, your child's physician, the intestine transplant health care team and other hospital departments.
  • Work with the hospital's financial services representatives and your insurance company to help you secure insurance coverage for your child's treatment.
  • Communicate with you and your child's physician about your child's medical condition and possible dates for evaluation and admission.

Staff members from the Intestine Transplant Program are ready to help you and your family at each stage of the transplant process. For more information, please call the Intestine Transplant Program at 1-800-328-5465.
